The following action plan will be used in the event of bad weather prior to or during a FVLC lacrosse event (practice or games):

  • If FVLC needs to delay or cancel a practice or game due to unsafe weather conditions, FVLC will send a notification of the delay or cancellation by text/group messaging to parents using the smart/cell phone numbers that you provided to each team coordinator.  Please ensure that you have provided your team coordinator the proper phone number(s).
  • In the event of bad weather (or expected bad weather), check for messages prior to leaving for the practice/game and once you are at the event, if weather conditions worsen.
  • Events will be delayed or cancelled due to lightening when there is lightning in the immediate area (typically within 6 miles).  Generally, play will not resume until there has been 30 minutes after the last lightning in the immediate area. Heavy rain can also delay or cancel events.  FVLC will communicate with parents regarding the status of practices or games using text/group messaging specified above.
