Our Coaching Philosophy

Our Coaching Philosophy

Fox Valley Lacrosse Clubs is a competitive team that is open to anyone who is interested in becoming a better lacrosse player.

We seek out the highest level competition in the Midwest and will play up to the High School level if this can be done safely.

Off season we try to allow all interested a place to play and get a feel for the club.

During the spring season, we hold tryouts and during our tryout process, all boys begin with a blank slate. We take this very seriously to upheld the integrity of the club –in past years, sons of coaches have not made the team.

We are looking to prepare our players for high level National Lacrosse competition and for life.

To provide them with the tools needed to become their best, to challenge themselves and to ultimately succeed on and off the lacrosse field. We extend to our athletes the importance of teamwork, camaraderie, leadership, dedication, education, honesty, sportsmanship and competition.

We teach the lacrosse skills taught at the High School Varsity level. It is imperative to attend practice, clinics and tournaments throughout the year. But we do understand conflicts during our off season practice and games.

In season we expect their attendance at all practices, games and tournaments. We understand emergencies that occasionally happen. We expect players to maintain an Academic standard set by their parents to be allowed the privilege of playing elite Club Lacrosse

We encourage multi sport athletes to play on their school teams but expect that during the Spring season FVLC lacrosse is their major athletic commitment. As a player you make a commitment to other players that are counting on you to show up.

Each person plays a vital role in the success of the team. Some roles are more visual than others and many times sacrifices have to be made in the best interest of the Team. This is a critical life skill. Our teams are only as strong as each individual.

Playing time on game day is at the discretion of the coaching staff and is determined by several factors. This includes, but is not limited to commitment, knowledge of the game, athletic ability, coachability and heart.

Conditioning is required, we condition at practice but if that is all the exercise your son is getting he will find practices very difficult physically.
