FVLC Supports The Jeanine Nicarico Memorial Fund for Reading
All current and former Fox Valley Lacrosse Club Players, Parents Friends and Family members are invited to run or walk in the 2011 Run for Reading 5K.
When: Sunday May 15th, 2011
Time: 7:30 a.m.
Where: River Woods Elementary School - 2607 River Woods Dr, Naperville, IL
Registration Fee: $20 by May 7th or $25 for same day registration
Fox Valley Lacrosse Club Helps Haiti
Players, friends and families of the Fox Valley Lacrosse Club and True Lacrosse organization recently partnered with Feed My Starving Children to pack food boxes for those stricken by the devastation in Haiti. Exhibiting the same team work they use on the lacrosse field, the boys worked together to pack over 46,000 meals to support those in need.
The impact this event had on the boys was best captured by members of the Simes family whose son Liam plays for Fox Valley. His mother Michelle shared “our son said this is a blast and best part is knowing that even from thousands of miles away you can make a difference in another person’s life.” The enthusiasm for Feed My Starving Children’s cause has even carried over after the event as Michelle’s daughter reminded her that venti latte was the equivalent of almost 20 meals!
The coaches and parents of the Fox Valley and True Lacrosse organizations are grateful for the opportunity their players had to apply the commitment they apply on the field, off the field and most importantly – learn how much that can mean to those in need.
